History:
Professor Jan Hirsch served in the Royal Swedish Navy for 18 months in the medical corps. Professor Hirsch has a broad theoretical and practical background of the health care sector focused on acute care in the surgical field but also in preventative medicine and 25 years practical experience in dental implants.

Professor Hirsch has been in charge of an independent unit in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 20 years with full responsibility for personnel, budgeting, economical results and care.

Professor Hirsch has extensive experience in clinical and experimental research concerning the health consequences of tobacco use. This includes vast theoretical and practical knowledge with regard to problems related to rehabilitation of bone loss in connection with loss of teeth. Professor Hirsch is responsible for ten PhD students and has published more than eighty scientific reports on the above subjects.
